One of my favorite songs lyric wise. All Southern Cross songs were recorded by JLA studios back in 1993 and I was amazed how well JLA improved on the quality of the cassette after turning them into mp3's in 2012.

The songs about the bullshit and struggles in life that we have no control of and the longing for the days of no cares or responsibilities

Lyrics

Kick a stone across the river, my childhood days I remember
passing by the old oak tree, lying close just like we use to be

To be as one is for remember, giving one for all
in our flag it flies the future, as another one dies

Holy grace for dinner, a sinners hearts on the inside yeah
see a children's crying eyes, as a mother dies, yes a mother dies

Kick a stone across the river, my childhood days I remember those days, passing by the old oak tree, lying close just like we use to be

Hit'n the open road, with your moon to see
a son is born apart from the father he'll never see
Kick a stone across the river, my childhood days I remember
take my hand I'm alone again, take me back, Lord take me back
