Song info? I will tell you this- it's all about a friend of mine who fell in love with a titty dancer. which is a pretty unfair description of the girl cus she was actually a very cool lady. but still, she and my buddy were in love, but not enough so that she'd quit her profitable career.

he couldn't handle it.

Musically, well, I had laid these lyrics over 2 other songs previously and I wasn't the least bit disappointed in them but, the gorgeous chord progression Dave put down begged for this melody and these words. They fit like the perfect glove. and RJ and the rest of the band picked up on it for sure. Kudos to Dennis for the soulful bass. and congrats to Ian who discovered his rim shot.

Somehow, my favorite BG song ....

Somewhat progressive, with vocal styles switching well throughout the song, with both male/ female vox's, good harmonies, and melodic guitars.

The track got better as it ticked along, and there was a very intelligent use of percussion towards the end of the track, and an almost perfect outro.

A nice piece of composing/ song writing, with interesting lyrics, and certainly a track that I will listen to again.

Well done.

The acoustic guitar is superlatively playing a big Poison-like melody allowing a verb drenched lead vocal indulgence to follow through with poetic license.

The bass plays a wonderful lead line, works well with this long involved and climaxing melody. The harmony vocals are perfectly placed. And the falsetto lead verse is a cool touch, too. There's one ending part after lady that makes me think of a Heart song Crazy on You. But if you like Heart, rock with a large dose of syrupy performance and sound, hard rock with no sharp edges, you might like this ballad. I sure did!

It strikes me as a modern Crystal Blue Persuasion, a far cry from the dry vocals of so much modern mainstream music, and I get the feeling the vocal is mixed to this near point of overeffectedness intentionally and surprisingly effectively to still sound exactly the way you think it ought to. Yes, I could imagine teens slow dancing to this at the prom in 2013.

Lyrics

Threat of Rain

Under threat of rain ends another day
we both close our eyes and then we turn away
we never thought that it would come to this
every tear we shed for the chill of our kiss.

It was yesterday we laughed in the rain
held each other warm but now we're fading away
how much longer can we go on like this
why can't we force ourselves to confess?

We been acting so strange now baby and we don't quite know what to do
it's making me scared and making me lonely now lady ... now lady

Why we been acting so strange?
I don't understand why people change
got me so scared, so lonely lady

If we could pull it back together we would
but it seems we forgot all the reasons we stood
maybe in time now all things must end
the wounds are so deep and they're so hard to mend

You turn your back to me and I walk away
but wipe away the tears, what of the ones we'll save?
we're still in love but just with the 'thought' of it
still it hurts so much to just turn and walk out on this

We been acting so strange now baby and we don't quite know what to do
it's making me scared and making me lonely now lady ...

Under threat of rain ends another day
now I close our eyes and then I'll turn away
we never thought that it would come to this
every tear we shed for that one final kiss

Oh lady .... under threat of rain.
